Scrag Oak Reviews

Charlie
We had such a lovely Christmas at Scrag Oak! It's honestly the perfect place for a cosy family gathering. Our UK and German relatives all loved how traditional and warm it felt. The peaceful surroundings made it extra special. The house had everything we needed - we even managed to cook a big Christmas dinner with no hassle. We also enjoyed learning to cook on the aga, playing board gamesand relaxing in the hot tub. We made some truly special memories we'll cherish forever!
Alex
ScragOak really is a lovely spot to stay. The place is super comfy and has everything you need. We enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub, which was spotless and warm, plus we even saw a tawny owl pass by-pretty magical! The Robin Hood pub at the top of the lane is fantastic. Can't wait to come back in summer and enjoy the garden more. Highly recommended!
Emma
A beautiful cottage in a gorgeous part of Sussex. It's very well appointed and super comfy. We really enjoyed our stay here!
Emily
What a gorgeous old cottage in a tranquil area, but still close to pubs and the sea! The garden is lovely. The kitchen is well equipped too. It was perfect for our college friends reunion, which was our first since covid!
Sarah
We had a lovely stay at Scragged Oak. The scenery and countryside were just amazingand we really enjoyed spotting the lambs and taking lots of long walks. The house was perfect for our family group. We loved the hot tub and those stunning views! Just a heads up though, the garden isn't secure, so be careful with dogs and little ones as there's a public footpath right by the front of the house. Figuring out how to use the aga was fun too. (There's a conventional oven as well.)
Lucy
We had a girls weekend and it was fab from start to finish! The cottage is beautiful and the owners have thought of everything you need to kick off your holiday. The hot tub was a brilliant touch. We also visited the Queens Head Inn pub, which was delightful and just a 25 minute walk away.
Laura
Our group of three siblings and their partners really loved the location of the house, which had such wonderful history. It was a super quiet setting with amazing views, even from the hot tub that we enjoyed every evening. The gardens were well kept and perfect for photos, especially at sunset! Definitely take the narrow lane from the Icklesham direction as it's even more narrow from the Pett end. We ate at The Queens Head in the village and Two Sawyers in Pett, both of which had excellent meals. We also enjoyed visiting Rye, Camberand Hastings.
Clara
This old property was just right for our group of 6 adults, along with a tiny 6-week-old and a lively 2-year-old. There was loads of space, a lovely gardenand once you get used to the super narrow lane leading up to Scrag Oak, the area is great! The Aga really is the heart of the kitchen, especially since the house gets cold when the temperature drops!
